What is the best way to use Primo Smoothie?
We recommend blending Primo Smoothie with fresh or frozen fruit, nuts and seeds, and anything else you enjoy to make a protein-rich smoothie perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a nutritious snack.
Can I use Primo Smoothie as a snack?
Yes! If you mix it with just water, you are getting 20 g of protein, only 4 g of sugar, and only 200 calories. This is a great snack. You can also add in some fresh fruit to get additional nutrients and fiber. How you use it and how many calories you consume will depend on your own personal needs dictated by your lifestyle and levels of activity.
Can I use Primo Smoothie as a recovery drink after exercise?
Yes! For most people in most circumstances, it is perfectly adequate as a recovery drink, especially when blended with fruit juice or fresh fruit for additional healthy carbohydrates. If your workouts are particularly intense or extreme, you may want a “specific” recovery drink, but the mix of protein and carbohydrate in Primo are great for recovery for most people most of the time.
Is Primo vegan?
No, it’s not vegan, but it is vegetarian. Primo Smoothie contains grass fed whey protein made from grass fed milk. Whey protein is natures best protein for building lean muscle due to its concentration of certain amino acids and its ability to be absorbed by the body. We prioritized this over using plant-based proteins. Though we do have plans for a vegan product down the line.
I don’t drink milk, can I use Primo Smoothie?
Almost certainly! In our first year of business, we have yet to have a SINGLE complaint about upset stomach with our product. Yep, you read that right, NOT ONE. We use very pure forms of dairy protein with negligible amounts of lactose. On the other hand, if you have a legitimate dairy allergy, understand our ingredients contain milk-derived compounds.
What can I blend my smoothie with?
We like to blend it with milk or a milk alternative like almond milk, coconut milk, flax milk or anything else you’d like. You can also blend with coconut water or juice, but if you are blending with juice just be sure you are aware of the additional calories you may be taking in. You can also simply blend with water!
Do I have to workout to drink Primo Smoothie?
No! It is designed to be a healthy meal whether you workout or not. In fact, it may be even better to drink on days you don’t workout as it’s a great way to help control calories and get high quality nutrition.
Will Primo Smoothie help me lose weight?
Possibly, yes. Though it is not designed to be a 'weight loss' product, it is an incredibly effective way to get high quality nutrition in a calorie-controlled manner. The combination of protein, fiber, and small amounts of healthy fats will also help keep you full. There is no magic bullet for weight loss – if you eat fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight. Primo might be a great solution for you to keep your calories in check and help you lose weight.
Is it good for men and women?
Yes! It’s good for everyone! Men, women, young and old!
Is it good for kids?
It is not a kids product, but we do have plenty of parents who like to give it to their kids. There is no caffeine or any other stimulants in it, or any harmful chemicals. If you do decide to give it to your kids, a half serving (1 scoop) may be best. You can always check with your doctor or health care provider for specific advice.
Can I drink a Primo Smoothie before a workout?
Yes! We love drinking Primo before a workout as it helps keep us fueled and doesn’t sit heavy in the stomach. If drinking before a workout, you may want to make a “lighter” smoothie. We recommend drinking at least 30 minutes before working out.
